I think you're spot on - corporations are perfectly happy for unhealthy behaviours to continue - after all if you do burn out they can just go ahead and replace you with another young eager person.

I think one of the things I am most sad about is that as a manager I modelled really bad, really unhealthy behaviours. Whilst I never expected anyone in my team to work the same crazy hours - and I would say as much and always encourage people to leave on time etc., - the reality is that how I was acting spoke a very different language.Ridleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11782166017045950991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5576178957650153550.post-90317507234438070922016-02-01T02:36:46.268-08:002016-02-01T02:36:46.268-08:00This is really well written and a very important q...This is really well written and a very important question to bring up. I think a lot of young women could do with taking a look at their working life and checking whether it's become unhealthy. Unfortunately a lot of large corporations don't recognise this sort of behaviour as problematic (it isn't for them, it's only beneficial) and it's easy to shine bright then quickly burn out.
